Visitors will have the chance to watch the evolving impressions of the artists as they capture the spirit of the festival, the wooden boats and the sunlit harbor on canvas throughout the day.
The upcoming Saturday's festival promises to be a delightful celebration, enriched by the presence of talented local plein air artists who will skillfully capture the essence and splendor of Newport Harbor. Throughout the day, as the sun casts its golden hues upon the harbor, visitors will have the opportunity to witness the artists' creative process unfold, as they translate the vibrant energy and scenic vistas into stunning works of art that encapsulate the spirit of the festival.
Born with a passion for design and creativity, Denise embarked on a journey to become an Architect, fascinated by the intersection of art and functionality. During the years of honing her architectural skills, she continued her study of the arts. In pursuit of her deepest passion, Denise is fully devoting her time to the profession of fine art. Drawing Inspiration from architectural principles, Denise now translates visions onto canvas, blending form, color and emotion to create captivating artworks that resonate with viewers on a deeper level. With a unique perspective shaped by her architectural background, Denise continues to explore the boundless possibilities of artistic expression, pushing the boundaries of imagination and innovation.

Denise Busony
Denise is a former Indiana farm “girl” now residing in Huntington Beach, CA. Her fine art journey began in 2019 when she joined her first plein air paint out in Laguna Beach. Since then, she’s been privileged to learn from some of her favorite local artists. In addition to landscapes, Denise enjoys painting still life settings and pets. She finds plein air painting most rewarding due to the immediacy and intuitiveness that painting on location in rapidly changing light demands. Denise is an active member of Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. an Artist member of the California Art Club and Southern California Plein Air Painters Association. She is represented by Studio 7 Gallery in Laguna Beach.
Amy Eidt Jackson
Amy is an artist of distilled light and interpreted environments. Her work reflects the inspiration of the natural landscape. Recognized as ‘Best Art Teacher of the Year’ by the OC Board of Education, she is also Founder and President of Art Studio Education, which organizes and teaches adult workshops in Laguna Beach. Amy studied art and art history in Southern California as well as at the Universita di Firenze, in Florence, Italy. She is a past President of Southern California Plein Air Painters, an active member of Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and Los Angeles Art Association. She participates in exhibitions throughout California and France, and her works can be found in many private and corporate collections.

Steve Sandborg is a plein air artist who resides in Dana Point, CA and has a passion for capturing the beauty of coastal scenes, landscapes and harbors, often with a focus on boats. He studied art at UCLA and spent 40 years in marketing and advertising. Having grown up an avid sailor, scuba diver and outdoorsman, his love of the ocean enabled him to explore some of the most spectacular coastlines in the world. He works primarily in oil and paints both on location as well as in the studio with reference photos and studies from his travels. Steve’s work can be seen at the Studio 7 Gallery in Laguna Beach.
Diane Snyder
Diane began her painting journey two years ago when she retired and she and her husband, Josh, relocated from the east to the west coast. As a classically trained pianist the arts were always an important part of her life. Soon after moving to California she stumbled upon a group of Plein Air painters in Corona Del Mar inspiring her to begin studying pastels and regularly painting with a group of talented local artists. I love the vitality and immediacy of pastel, it’s truly a magical medium! She is a member of the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, the Southern California Plein Air Painters Association and the American Impressionist Society. You can see some of Diane’s work on:

Lynn Wiederman
For Lynn, painting is about finding her voice through interesting compositions and subjects. She believes the more personal a painting can be, the more successful it will be. Her goal when she paints is to strike the attention of the viewer in the heart at first sight. Lynn is a graduate of Cal State Long Beach with a degree in Fine Art. After working many years as a graphic artist and designer for advertising and creative companies, she decided to pursue her dream to paint full-time. She has held memberships in many painting associations and has exhibited in many museum shows. She is currently the owner of Studio Seven Gallery where her art has shown for twenty seven years. Lynn’s gallery exhibits many artist’s work helping them to fulfill their dreams.
