A portion of the proceeds from the event will support the Balboa Yacht Club (BYC) Competitive Edge Fund for youth and other maritime programs. Join us in celebrating this heritage with our community at this year’s event.
Balboa Yacht Club, 1801 Bayside Drive, Corona del Mar, CA 92625.
Submit your application to participate in this year’s event. Wooden boats must be show-ready. The “Early- Bird” application deadline is 5:00 pm PST, April 20, 2020. Save $50 by entering early. The application fee is $100 after the early bird discount. The application must be complete and include the items indicated below:
- Completed Application with signed Liability Release
- Proof of Insurance
- High Resolution (300 dpi minimum) Color Photograph of the Entry Boat
- Paragraph write-up about the story and interesting history of your unique wooden boat. This, along with the photograph, will be used for the program and reader boards.
Prior to the event you will be advised of a specific time slot. Boat entrants must pick up check-in packets at CHECK-IN. Every entry will receive a laminated reader board for their boat to prominently display in public view from dockside. “Do Not Board”, ”Please Remove Your
Shoes”, and/or “Please Do Not Touch” signage is available upon request. “For Sale” signs may not be displayed while at the event. Boat owners or brokers may have 8½” x 11” flyers on board to hand out to interested parties noting “Available”.
The WBF White Glove Committee will assign in-water docking and on-land spaces for Boat Entrants at its discretion. WBF has a limited number of spaces for both in-the-water and trailered vessels. Location will be assigned to accepted vessels based on their length, freeboard, beam and draft, the date the complete application was received and applicable special requirements.
All exhibitors must wear their WBF badge while on BYC grounds and inside the BYC Clubhouse.
No vehicles are allowed on site after 9 am on Saturday of the event. There will be no street parking. No vehicles may be left unattended on BYC grounds at any time. A free shuttle between the Wooden Boat Festival and an off-site parking area will run all day Saturday of the event.
The Festival Committee has decided that this year only the Ralph Rodheim Perpetual Trophy will be presented to the Best-in-Show boat. This determination will be made by a team of expert judges, based on a select set of criteria. This award is not open to prior Best-in-Show winners. If you are interested in having your boat judged for this award and would like to see the judging criteria, please let us know.
BOAT SELECTION & INVITATIONS
