WINNER – 2016 Show Awards
Best of Show – Rodheim Perpetual Award

Chubasco is one of the few pedigree wooden classic sailing yachts remaining on the West Coast; a familiar sight in the same slip at Ardell Marina in Newport for over 50 years.  This Sparkman and Stephens yawl is a direct descendent of Dorade, Stormy Weather, and Santana. At 67 feet, she is considerably larger than her earlier sister ships. Built in 1939 by Wilmington Boat Works for the CEO of Union Oil Co., this exceptionally maintained yacht has enjoyed the finest care and a continuous maintenance and refit program.  Over the years, virtually every structural and mechanical component has undergone rebuild, refit or replacement. Care has been taken to maintain her as original.
