Kerry Rutherford is a fine artist in Southern California. Kerry has worked as a freelance artist creating murals, decorative artworks, and commissioned art in residences and businesses throughout Southern California and in Park City, Utah for the past 15 years. Through her instinctive use of color and artistic elements of design, Kerry creates inviting and inspiring environments. Kerry’s professional services include mural painting and design, decorative painting and faux finishing, color consulting, and commissioned paintings and custom artwork. Kerry studied fine art at the University of California at Santa Barbara where she received her Bachelor of Fine Art degree.
Born in New Jersey in 1951 and having descended from a long line of yachtsmen, the Kennedy clan of southwest Scotland. It should come as no surprise that Scott Kennedy’s artistic talent would one day hang in some of the finest maritime museums and galleries of the world. Scott’s family moved to Southern California when he was six and he began painting and exhibiting professionally at the tender age of thirteen.
For over forty years, Gary Miltimore has explored the evolution of the offshore racing yacht through his paintings and extensive racing experience. The artist is well qualified to illustrate the dramatic evolution of blue water racing. His sailing career includes crew positions aboard many of the world’s premiere offshore racing yachts, from majestic pre-WW II schooners to today’s high performance ” turbo-charged ” sleds.
California artist Lorelle Avonne Miller expresses a lifetime of developed technique and personal investigation in her works that comprise oils, pastel, marble sculpture, and other mediums. Evidenced in her artwork is a unique sensitivity for mood and emotion, which offer a glance into the deeper wells of her experience.
Festival of the Arts
The Laguna Beach Festival of Arts is a 501c3 with a mission to promote, produce, and sponsor events and activities that encourage the appreciation, study and performance of the arts. Throughout each year the Festival of Arts sponsors art education programming, art exhibits and provides art scholarships to local high school students as well as grants for local non-profit art organizations through its Foundation. The Festival owns an extensive Permanent Art Collection, which is regularly on display throughout the year. The Collection continues to grow, with artwork acquired through purchases, bequests and donations.
Author Walt Hackman is a retired computer executive, art gallery owner, philanthropist, Navy serviceman, father, husband and world traveler.
Walt joined the Navy in 1954 where his attachment to the ocean began. The next four years were filled with electrical and electronics training and an international tour aboard the U.S.S. Kermit Roosevelt ARG-16. While stationed aboard the Kermit Roosevelt, Walt traveled extensively throughout South East Asia and developed an ardent and abiding interest in Asian and Pacific Rim culture.
