Come and explore the art & craft of over 40 beautiful wooden watercraft. Walk the docks and board these floating works of art. Stroll the Balboa Yacht Club shoreline to see some of the craftsmen and the tools they use to keep these boats in "Bristol" condition. Watch as some of our local Plein Air Artists capture the beauty of the boats in Newport Harbor during the festival. Take a few moments to visit the model boat exhibit, see what a wooden hull looks like out of the water or listen to a guest speaker share their tales and experience. Cap your visit by stepping back in time to cruise aboard America, a replica of the iconic 139-foot yacht that forever etched its name in sailing history.

Prepare to be enchanted by the Newport Beach Wooden Boat Festival's shining star of 2024! We are proud to feature a replica of one of the most celebrated wooden boats to ever set sail. Without exaggeration, America is the world's most famous racing yacht, as well as one of the most beautiful boats in the world. The original America put yachting on the map. It's why the most famous trophy in sailing is called The America's Cup. Renowned for its remarkable craftsmanship and timeless design, this iconic yacht had many lives competing in races, patrolling the coastline during the American Civil War, and hosting legends of the marinetime world. Step aboard for a dockside tour or book your spot for an on the water sail!

An Under The Stars Experience

You are invited to be part of history at the Inaugural Opening Night preview for the 2024 Newport Beach Wooden Boat Festival. The evening will offer the first opportunity to step aboard the famed sailing yacht America, a chance to stroll the docks under the twinkle of lights for early viewing of some of the boats invited to this year's Festival, and an exclusive preview of Saturday's Exhibits. It will also provide an opportunity to meet this year's featured craftsman, David Lake, and featured artist, Kim Gordon. Enjoy specialty cocktails and appetizers before dinner which will include music and a live auction of curated on-the-water experiences. Business/Cocktail attire.

  • Where can I park?

    Free parking and shuttle service are available at 1600 Newport Center Drive from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm.

  • How can I find information during the festival?

    Visit the Information Booth or approach our friendly volunteers and concierges for assistance.

  • What if I need first aid?

    The First Aid Station is located at the Kaiser Permanente Tent.

  • What if I lose something?

    The Lost & Found is located at the Information Booth outside of the front gate.

  • Can I wear heels to the festival?

    Those heels are no good on boat decks. It’s bare feet or boating shoes only when boarding the yachts. Be mindful of docks, ramps and nautical hazards. It’s a great opportunity to go shopping for Super Cute Boat Shoes!

  • What about footwear for gentlemen?

    Wear proper boat shoes to avoid scuff marks on the decks or be prepared to take off those hard soles before boarding.

  • Where is the festival located?

    The festival takes place at the Balboa Yacht Club, 1801 Bayside Drive, Corona del Mar, CA 92625.

  • When is the festival happening?

    Tickets to the Friday Night Event are $175.


    Admission to the Saturday Festival is $15, with additional donations gratefully accepted to support youth sailing programs. Children under 12 are free.

  • Can I grab lunch at the festival?

    Absolutely! Enjoy delicious artisian foods and craft cocktails along with wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. There will be kid-friendly options as well. Credit cards are accepted only!

  • Can I bring my kids to the festival?

    Of course! The festival is family-friendly, and children are welcome to join in the maritime fun.

  • Is there a preferred payment method for food and drinks?

    Credit cards are accepted only!

  • How do I become a festival volunteer?
